All vehicles over 3 years of age require an annual MoT test
York Avenue Garage has a modern, fully up to date Mot testing facility offering class IV MoTs for unbeatable low prices. For a limited period only we can offer class IV mot testing at just £30.00 (RRP £54.85)in our state of the art workshop, or why not take advantage of our MOT & service packages (see above). Should your vehicle unfortunately fail its test then you have 10 days in which to have it re-tested at a cost of £15. If you leave the vehicle with us for the repairs then there is no charge for the re-test. |

The exhaust pipe and Catalytic converter on a vehicle plays a major role in the efficiency and performance of a vehicles running. If either of these items are damaged or faulty then is likely your vehicle may not be running properly and using far more fuel than it really should. How do I know I need a new clutch?
You will know when its time to have have your clutch looked at when you feel that the acceleration speed of the car is not in sync with the rev speed of the engine. A test to carry out is to put the vehicle in fifth gear at low speed and push the accelerator to the floor. Does the engine rev freely? If so this is called Clutch Slip and you need to bring it in otherwise you could find yourself stranded in an embarrassing situation.

Wheel Alignment and Balancing . . . . from £29 + vat
Does your vehicle pull to one side? Does the steering wheel vibrate? Do you have to move the steering wheel constantly to keep in a straight line? The chances are if your car has any of these symptoms your wheel alignment or balancing may be badly adjusted or a combination of both. These problems will normally be corrected by checking and realigning the wheels or balanced to the finest tolerances, and weights fitted as specified by vehicle manufacturers.. Puncture Repair Service . . . . from £12 + vat
You may not require a new tyre just a repair to an old one. Most punctures are repairable depending on the extend of the damage and the location on the tyre. To see whether your puncture is repairable bring it in to us and one of our technicians will look at it and advise you further.

Why does it need to be serviced?
Your air conditioning system can lose up to 10 per cent of its gas each year. Unless it's replaced the system will be less able to keep you cool and refreshed. If you fail to service the system according to the manufactures recommendations, the system will continue to lose gas, become less efficient and lead to increased fuel consumption. It will eventually fail and need replacement parts. Our service will drain and recharge the system; check hoses, filters, belts and connections; and make sure the compressor and condenser are working correctly.
- Service one £50 + vat This service removes all the old gasses and oils within your Air Conditioning system and replaces it with new oil and gas.
- Service two £75 + vat As Service one above with the addition of an additive put into the system which eliminates bacteria, fungi, moulds and viruses which cause unpleasant odours, hay fever symptoms and other allergic reactions. Additionally this service deodorises the upholstery and carpets to bring back that new car smell.
